The Day of the Dead is one of the most emotive Mexican traditions 🕯️celebrated on the first and second of November. If you do not know where to celebrate the Day of the Dead, the town of San Andres Mixquic is one of the locations that inspired the movie Coco due to its authentic representation of this tradition. Join us for a Dia de los Muertos in Mexico City to find the elegant catrinas, colourful altars and the magically decorated cemetery.

In this video I’ll tell you about a essential element of the Day of the Dead celebration. I’ll show you how to create a traditional Día de Muertos Ofrenda, or altar, to honour your loved ones who have passed away. Learn about the rich symbolism behind key elements like cempasúchil (marigolds) candles, papel piqued and traditional offerings like pan de muerto sugar skulls and food. Don’t forget to personalise your altar with photos and cherished belongings!
